The boy I was building it for didn't like that theme so I went for one that he wanted instead but compromised with him on the engine and used the 348 out of the Revell '58 Impala kit which was a much nicer option. The AMT 1959 El Camino kit (6897) has always been one of my favorite subject matters to build, and this is the third time I’ve built this particular kit. My original intent was to build it as a street machine with Chevrolet Rallye wheels from the late 60's that were used on Camaros and to put a 350 in it instead of either one of the terrible engine choices from the kit. The paint looks superb and a great finish, although I'm not a fan of the colour, but that's just me, I would like it in high gloss black with the chrome, but that would be my choice, nothing wrong with your paint job You've got to admit it, the '50s had some nice looking cars with all the wings and curves, and this is a really well done interpretation of one of them
